We're finally out for break... I was hoping to finish my office by now, but I didn't, so expect some pictures up in about two weeks.
I started a new story, kind of. It was an assignment for writers club. I'll post it at the end of this journal for you all to read. I think its kind of lame.
I started a new painting a while back and haven't touched it since...and I started a new drawing and haven't touched it since. I haven't felt very...artistic.
My director is letting me design the t-shirts for our murder mystery dinner. My idea was like a printed tuxedo on the front, and then on the back it says, "The Butler Did It...and so did we." Then of course our school, the year, and cast and crew

I'm getting to go to Theatre Fest in January! I'm very excited. I wish I had a smaller camera to take with me. Lugging a big Canon everywhere is slightly inconvenient when you want to take snapshots.
I may be working at Cotton Patch in the next week or two

Excited about that. I need to study...I have to take a test on Tuesday. Then hopefully my orientation will be the following Monday.
Anyway. I hope you're all doing well. I'm not on here very much anymore other than to update about my life (lol) and check my messages every now and then. I'm swamped with deviations to look at.
Oh. I went to see the New Moon premiere. I was rather disappointed. I saw 2012 last night...I fell asleep in the theatre. It was nearly 3 hours long (somewhere around 2H45M...) and it moved so slowly.
Now then. Here's my story. Enjoy! This isn't all of it though

I guess I didn't save the last few paragraphs I had written while at school.
A natural disaster (or something like that)
I was sitting in my overly-stuffed red vinyl recliner, listening to the stifled sounds of summer in her overbearing heat. The box fan humming in the window offered no relief. The TV was on, but the volume low, background noise. I could hear my wife, LeAnn, cleaning up the kitchen, then her voice sang to me, Honey, I could use some help in here. She didnt sound nearly as agitated as I expected, so I went willingly, turning the TV up just enough to be faintly heard in the kitchen. She smiled sweetly up at me as I joined her side, rinsing and drying dishes for her as I listened to her chatter about the gossip shed heard today while grocery shopping with a friend of hers. My responses were small, mostly just nods and mhms. My attention was drifting back to the news castor.
"
and tonight between 11PM and 3AM you can view a meteor shower. It is suspected to be most brilliant around 1 oclock where you can expect to see twenty to thirty per minute. There may be some light overcast this evening but it should be moving out of our viewing area around 12 oclock, just in time."
I smiled fondly. Every year there was always a meteor shower. It reminded me of the night, three years ago, that I proposed to my beautiful LeAnn. Like a second anniversary, we would always go to watch the falling stars. A million wishes dashing across the velvet sky.
David, are you even listening to me? Her voice caught my attention again. Of course, baby, I replied instantly. Of course I wasnt, and she had caught me. Oh, I bet you were, she laughed, brushing away her annoyance. I laughed a little too, then asked, theres a shower tonight. Do you want to stay up to watch it? I saw her excitement twinkle in her big brown eyes, yes! she answered enthusiastically. LeAnn loved the stars.
As we finished the dishes, we saw the first glint of the falling stars from the window. It was a little early, but we lived farther out from the city, so the skies were clearer, less smog and light blocking the view. LeAnn ran to grab her video camera from our small bedroom while I took our chairs from the dinner table to the back porch. LeAnn set up her tripod and we waited. The first few meteors began to drop in the distance, sparkling like diamonds. I watched LeAnns face, her eyes. I liked that almost more than the shower itself. It made her look so perfect.
Then we heard the booms, the screaming, felt the earth tremble. LeAnns face was pulled back in terror, eyes wide, her small hand slightly covering her open mouth. What happened?! I asked, m y voice, panic stricken, as I leapt up. LeAnn was standing, fear slowing her movements. David, she whimpered, staring out at the sky. I looked back out, seeing the meteors
seeing and hearing and feeling them crash through our atmosphere. The trembling was growing stronger, the screams were getting closer, the booms more consistent.
I grabbed my wifes arm, not waiting to see what other destruction might happen. If we had any chance of surviving, we needed to get into a vehicle and leave. Now. She was panicking, crying and wailing with fear, hardly able to do more than walk. All the while, I held on to her.
We made it to the front door. I grabbed the keys to my truck. We made it outside
David! LeAnn shrieked with horror. I looked up, seeing more of these asteroids soaring into the ground. They were coming down everywhere. Then our house was obliterated, the force of the near mountain-size rock pounding the earth knocking us both to the ground. Shattered pieces of our house and debris from the meteorite rained down over us, and before we could gain enough sense to stand and try to run again, another asteroid crashed nearby. And another, closer yet. Disoriented, I could do nothing more than lie there. My arm stretched out, searching for LeAnns, and I found her gone from my side. What was happening?...why hadnt there been any warning?...why had LeAnn disappeared?
Silence. Absolute silence. There were no sounds of movement, no sounds of creatures that may have once existed on this planet. Nothing. Everything had been pounded into nothing
We stared out at the grey scene of what we assumed was Earths morning, wondering where civilization was. Were they hiding from us? Had they not received our warnings? Maybe they didnt understand the dangers that were to come?
We crawled from our ships, looking about for others that had survived our crash landing. Our escape. We were scattered throughout the entire planet, but we would find each other again soon enough. The dust stirred around us as we walked about searching for
well, whatever we might stumble across. Stumble indeed
we found them
bodies buried beneath dust and debris of our frightening intrusion. These creatures that called themselves humans looked similar to our own species, but either we were more evolved, or they were
I feared that we had destroyed the planet, rather than aid it. We had been trying so hard to send them the message, warn them that it was coming for them
that we were coming too. That we would have no way to stop ourselves from crashing into their precious homes.
Then the human let out a pitiful noise, wounded and pathetic. I crouched to listen, using my best English dialect I had learned in the years before the destruction of our galaxy. What is your name? The human only looked up at me, dumbfounded by my appearance. I had to remember that my race had kept itself a long distance from humans. Curious creatures they were, but they meddled oh so much.
I need to get some new features up...

Some people walk around the world with their eyes open, but they see nothing.
Send one to all your friends who you think deserve a hug (which, hopefully includes the person who sent it to you)!!
You might send it to your enemies as well!
It'll really make them stop and think!!!
If you don't receive this back, nobody likes you, and they wish you'd stop bugging them!
If you receive this back 1 time, open up! Find more friends, enemies, or enemies pretending to be friends
If you receive this back 2 times, you're off to a good start! (Unless you sent it to yourself! That's cheating!)
If you receive this back 3 times, you're a good friend.
If you receive this back 4 times, you're truly loved as a friend!!

Hid under lock and key
I keep it caged
But I can't control it. . .I feel it deep within,
It's just beneath the skin
I must confess that I
Feel like a monster~" - Skillet
